Guide: Pumpkin Patches within 30 Minutes of McKinney, TX 👻

Find Your Family FUN at these local pumpkin patches, a half-hour drive or less from McKinney.

Macaroni KID McKinney is getting geared up for fall fun! We've rounded up some of the most fun pumpkin patches in and around McKinney! Please note that some of these patches haven't updated their 2025 info yet. Always check the link (in pink) before heading out for dates and times they are open. 


Storybook Ranch (McKinney)

Why families love it: Western town vibes, hayrides, petting zoo, great photo ops.

Typical season: Late Sept–Oct

Activities: Pumpkins, hayrides, pony rides (select days), maze, petting zoo

Tips: Weekday afternoons are quieter for photos. Bring cash for small add-ons.


5G Farms (McKinney)

Highlights: Family-run, corn maze, bounce house, goat feeding, BBQ for sale, vendor market , classic hayride-to-the-patch experience

2025 season: September 26th - November 2nd

Tips: Wear closed-toe shoes. They sell a limited number of turkeys for Thanksgiving. Ask for details.

Team Family Farms (Aubrey)

Drive time: ~30 min west

Activities: Hayrides, farm animals, small corn maze, photo spots, pumpkins by size/weight.

2025 season: September 27th - November 2nd

Tips: Check their FB page morning-of for weather and field conditions.


Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Preston Trail Farms (Gunter)

Drive time: ~30 min northwest

Highlights: lots of places to climb and play, awesome hay ride through fields, photo ops , feed the animals, lots of pumpkin sizes.

Tips: Arrive when they open on weekends to avoid lines. Pack wipes—goat feed is a hit.

Pumpkins on the Prairie (Frisco)

Drive time: ~25 min south-southwest

2025 season: October 1st - 31st 

Highlights: Church-run community patch with great photo backdrops and themed displays. No entry fee.

Tips: Ideal for littles and quick pics; bounce house, play area, face painting, hayrides, pumpkin trebuchet.

Christ United Pumpkin Patch (Plano)

Drive time: ~25 min south

2025 season: September 29th - October 31st

Highlights: Giant lawn full of pumpkins, supports youth ministry, sweet community feel.

Tips: Golden hour photos are gorgeous here. Bring a blanket for sit-and-snap moments.

The Pumpkin Patch at Sunset Trail Farm (McKinney)

2025 season: September 26th - October 31st

Highlights: Huge displays, tons of photo ops, ball pit, kid-size maze, rubber duck races, farm animals, pumpkin bowling.

Tips: Can be crowded; weekdays and earlier October are best. Closed Wednesdays.



Accessibility and Parent Notes 

Parking: Many lots are grassy; strollers with bigger wheels fare better.

Sensory: Hayrides/animal areas can be loud; bring headphones if needed.

Cash/Card: Some vendors are cash-preferred for snacks and extras—check before you go.

Photos: Ask staff where tripods are allowed; some patches limit pro shoots or require reservations.
